Talamanca House

Talamanca House was conceived as a home for every season rather than a traditional summer retreat. The ambition was to create a place where family and friends could gather throughout the year, capturing the relaxed rhythm of Ibiza without relying on its familiar architectural clichés. Instead of recreating a holiday villa, the design sought to establish a home that feels timeless, comfortable and deeply connected to its surroundings.

The existing residence already possessed generous proportions, abundant daylight and a seamless relationship with its outdoor spaces. Rather than starting from scratch, the design focused on refining what was already there. The original Carrara marble flooring, kitchen and bathrooms were carefully preserved and upgraded, allowing the renovation to respect the character of the house while introducing greater warmth and cohesion.

Materiality became the project's defining language. The cool elegance of Carrara marble is balanced by richly toned walnut joinery, while linen wall coverings add texture and improve acoustic comfort. Bespoke carpets in warm grey hues anchor the living and dining areas, creating intimacy within the generous open-plan spaces. Throughout the interior, natural materials and restrained detailing establish a calm atmosphere where architecture quietly frames everyday life.

The strongest connection to Ibiza is found not through stylistic references, but through the experience of living. Large openings dissolve the boundary between inside and outside, allowing daylight, sea breezes and the changing colours of the landscape to shape the character of the home. As evening falls, terraces, planting and the pool become natural extensions of the interior, creating spaces that encourage long conversations and unhurried moments together.

Rather than interpreting Ibiza as an aesthetic, Talamanca House captures its rhythm—a home designed for returning, gathering and lingering just a little longer than planned.
