Interior Design

From first conversation to final detail. Kolenik brings interior design and realisation together in one closely coordinated process. Our role is to understand how a client wants to live, translate that understanding into a coherent design and protect its intention through the many decisions required to make it real. Kolenik Design develops the complete interior environment of a residence. We begin with the people who will live there: their routines, relationships, preferences and long-term needs. From this understanding, we develop the spatial concept, material language and atmosphere of the home. Depending on the project, our design scope may include:

* spatial planning and interior architecture;

* material, colour and finish direction;

* bespoke kitchens, cabinetry and architectural joinery;

* lighting, acoustics and technology integration;

* coordination with architects, engineers and specialist consultants;

* furniture, art and decorative selections;

* three-dimensional visualisation and technical detailing;

* final styling and preparation for occupation.

Each discipline is considered in relation to the whole. The objective is not to add separate layers of design and technology, but to create one intuitive living environment.

Realisation

For selected commissions, Kolenik Projects coordinates the interior realisation and procurement process. Bringing design and execution closer together allows feasibility, detailing, budget and planning to be considered from an early stage. It also protects continuity: the ideas established at the beginning of the project remain recognisable in the final result.

The realisation scope may include:

• cost planning and procurement;

• coordination of specialist suppliers, craftsmen and subcontractors;

• complete interior fit-out, including ceilings, floor construction, finishes and integrated building systems;

• bespoke production and installation;

• lighting, climate, home automation and other interior-related technical integrations;

• quality control throughout the execution process;

• furniture, art and accessories;

• final styling and handover.

Our process

We begin with conversation. Before drawing, we seek to understand the property, the people who will inhabit it and the practical and emotional qualities the home should support. The spatial concept, material language and atmosphere are developed as one coherent vision. Key decisions on scope, budget and technical feasibility are addressed throughout the process. The design is translated into technical information, specialist coordination and carefully resolved details. Complexity remains behind the scenes so that the final experience can feel simple. Where appointed, Kolenik Projects coordinates procurement, specialist production, interior installation and completion. The studio remains involved until the home is ready to be lived in.

We intentionally undertake a limited number of projects. This enables Robert Kolenik and the studio’s senior team to remain personally involved from the first conversation through design development and realisation. Being boutique is not about size. It is about responsibility. We do not promise that a complex project will be simple. We make its complexity understandable, coordinated and manageable.
